Jason DeLong was born in Bedford, Virginia. He lives on the small family farm he grew up on that is nestled between the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Smith Mountain Lake. He is in close proximity to a variety of National Parks offering an abundance of breathtaking rivers and streams. Jason has a lifelong love of nature and enjoys kayaking with his family while capturing photographs of wildlife and landscapes.
His artistic passion is centered on portraying the emotion and expression of the human figure. In addition to his artistic appreciation of beauty and unusual sights he has an analytical side leaning towards structural engineering. He has spent the past 20 plus years building a strong and focused foundation in Mechanical Engineering and 3D Design for furniture. He began his furniture career as a frame sub assembler and worked in various departments through the years learning the industry from experience. Eventually this led him into function analysis for value engineering with a niche in CNC programming. With his background in mechanical design, art and an ambitious drive he was able to become a New Product Development frame designer, competent in many forms of furniture. Over the years Jason established a knack for motion furniture coupled with a love for exposed wood. Now as a freelance furniture designer, he is able to tap into his creative and systematic personality.
